Staff Communication Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop space architecture concepts, subsystem and payload designs, requirements, and high-level software and hardware system architectures.
• Evaluate customer and operational needs, define technical requirements, and ensure compatibility across physical, functional, and program interfaces.
• Develop concepts of operations, perform risk analysis, and create mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and resolve issues that could impede program progress.
• Collaborate with program management, manufacturing, external customers, product developers, and vendors on technical baselines, schedules, and system integration.
• Improve systems engineering processes for requirements management, flow-down, and traceability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience, with an emphasis on space-based communication payloads.
• Practical experience with antenna and RF systems.
• Experience working with product and component developers and critical-functionality vendors.
• Proficiency with a requirements management tool such as DOORS or Jama.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
