What you will do

• Assist Press Operators with make-ready, operation, and maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset printing presses.
• Install and align printing plates, blankets, packing sheets, and reinforcing bars using hand and power tools.
• Adjust feeder, delivery, suction, guide, feed wheel, jogging, tape, and cam mechanisms.
• Help replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure under guidance.
• Clean blankets, ink rollers, and ink fountains using solvents and press cleaning mechanisms.
• Make color, register, and press adjustments to meet production quality specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.
• Ability to read job specifications and identify the materials required for press setup.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and follow instructions.
• Ability to use a micrometer to mount and align printing plates and adjust feeder and feed board settings.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs under senior Press Operator guidance.
