Senior Accountant, Reinsurance (Insurance)

Salary: $86,625–$127,050 USD per year

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and reconcile periodic reinsurance settlement statements.
• Complete monthly and quarterly ledger close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Validate internal and reinsurer data, investigate discrepancies, and maintain thorough supporting records.
• Support the implementation and updating of reinsurance agreements and collaborate with reinsurers.
• Improve accounting processes through standardization, automation, workflow tools, and emerging technologies.
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, and cross-functional work with Financial Reporting, Risk Management, Legal, Internal Audit, Pricing, Product, IT, Operations, and Investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Three to five years of accounting experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience.
