Supervisory Accountant, Reinsurance

Location: Wilton, Connecticut; New York, New York; or Parsippany, New Jersey. Primarily office-based.

Salary: $89,000–$109,000 for New Jersey positions; $90,000–$112,000 for New York positions, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate excess of loss and quota share cessions and premium adjustments across multiple reinsurance programs.
• Allocate deposit premiums, prepare and review monthly journal entries, and calculate premium adjustments.
• Coordinate settlements and cash application with Reinsurance Collections.
• Perform SOX control reviews and support responses to reinsurer inquiries through research and analysis.
• Support CFO and FP&A teams with analysis of reinsurance activities and financial results.
• Process assumed reinsurance programs, including applicable retrocessions, and review Schedule F Part 3 balances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, particularly leading teams in a controller capacity for a public property and casualty insurance company.
• Strong knowledge of reinsurance operations, including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance, processes, controls, and systems.
• Strong insurance technical accounting expertise, including analysis of balance sheet and income statement relationships.
• Experience managing onshore and offshore resources globally and working across Finance and operational disciplines.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, systems acumen, and ability to work in a dynamic, transformational environment.
