Associate Teacher

Location: New York City, USA; full-time attendance and travel to hirify.global schools are required. Employment may be reviewed if relocating outside a commutable distance or outside New York State.

Salary: $63,750 per year.

hirify.global is a nonprofit network of 18 free public charter schools serving students across the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

What you will do

• Share classroom responsibilities with a Lead Teacher and implement lessons that address diverse student needs.
• Plan and deliver daily small-group intervention lessons using an inquiry-based curriculum.
• Provide classroom coverage during short-term Lead Teacher absences.
• Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment and support classroom management.
• Assess student learning, provide feedback, communicate progress to parents, and prepare reports.
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, coaching, and lesson debriefs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills in a team-oriented school environment.
• Commitment to developing teaching practice through feedback, reflection, and continuous learning.
• Ability to support a safe classroom environment and maintain effective communication with students, families, and staff.
• New York State teacher certification is required, or enrollment in a master’s program leading to New York State certification.
• Visa sponsorship and work authorization are not provided.
