TL;DR
Technical Development Specialist (HVAC): Leading advanced technical support, warranty administration, field investigations, and commissioning activities with an accent on HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, controls, and cross-functional issue resolution. Focus on analyzing complex equipment failures, improving warranty and service processes, coaching support specialists, and developing technical resources.

Location: Tulsa, OK, United States. Full-time work across office, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, and customer-site environments; regular travel to customer locations and field projects is required.

What you will do

  • Act as the lead technical resource for escalated customer, service, warranty, and field-support issues.
  • Lead investigations into complex equipment failures, recurring field issues, and critical customer concerns.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Technical Support Specialists and service personnel.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Sales, and Service teams on corrective actions and product improvements.
  • Review complex warranty claims, repair authorizations, replacement recommendations, and service requests.
  • Develop troubleshooting procedures, service bulletins, knowledge-base articles, training materials, and support policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, controls, field service, technical support, commissioning, warranty administration, or a related technical environment.
  • Expert knowledge of HVAC equipment, refrigeration, controls, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, technical investigation, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, control logic, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to travel regularly, access rooftops and mechanical rooms, work around industrial hazards, lift up to 50 lbs, and use required PPE.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in Applied Science, Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Industry-recognized HVAC, controls, refrigeration, or technical certifications.
  • Experience as a technical mentor, project lead, or subject matter expert.
