Service Technician - Lead Professional (Commercial Refrigeration)

Location: Onsite in Macon, Atlanta, McDonough, or Fayetteville, Georgia, United States

What you will do

• Lead service technicians across an assigned geographic area or customer/project assignment.
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
• Coordinate technical support, coaching, training, scheduling, and professional development for technicians.
• Survey customer sites and support service quoting, staffing, estimating, and project-cost analysis.
• Perform complex refrigeration work, including leak detection, compressor replacement, refrigerant and oil conversions, brazing, soldering, and thermostatic expansion valve troubleshooting.
• Manage vehicle inventory, parts ordering, documentation, invoicing, customer relations, and compliance with company procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an HVAC-R technical school degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of field experience, or 5 years with technical-school certification; internal candidates need 3 years as a certified technician with completed OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, leadership, communication, decision-making, paperwork, scheduling, and business skills.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, climb ladders, work at elevations, and repeatedly lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of commercial refrigeration, HVAC/R systems, controls, motors, compressors, pressure regulators, wiring diagrams, and refrigeration layouts.

Nice to have

• HVAC-R technical school degree.
• Understanding of CO2 refrigeration systems.
• Additional knowledge of basic or commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
