Field Engineer III (HVAC and Electrical Systems)

Location: Houston, Texas, at the TAS-Cullen HQ; the role requires approximately 80% domestic and international travel and work in field construction conditions.

What you will do

• Commission, start up, troubleshoot, repair, retrofit, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Service vertical turbine pumps, split-coupled inline pumps, cooling towers, centrifugal chillers, variable frequency drives, motors, and power distribution systems.
• Direct field commissioning and provide documented commissioning records for mechanical and electrical project components.
• Prepare red-line drawings, compile O&M and IOM documentation, and transmit critical operating information during project delivery.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, production, quality, construction, subcontractor, and client personnel.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities, including performing or overseeing equipment checks and managing the construction hand-off.

Requirements

• Significant field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting Eaton and Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics and exposure to at least one PLC or building-controls platform.
• Experience verifying compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other relevant codes and practices.
• Ability to travel extensively to domestic and international job sites; approximately 80% travel is required.
• Ability to obtain applicable safety certifications, including OSHA 10 General Construction and NFPA 70E, plus a safe driving record.

Nice to have

• HVAC trade school or apprenticeship training.
• Military training or relevant technical experience in lieu of trade school certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
