Press Operator (Experienced)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite, full-time. Openings are available on the 2nd shift (3 p.m.–11 p.m.) and 3rd shift (11 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Salary: $23–$32 per hour, plus a $2 per hour paid shift differential.

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain full-size, multi-color offset presses.
• Review job specifications and determine press setup, settings, materials, and imposition requirements.
• Perform make-ready tasks, including hanging plates, installing cylinders, inspecting image positioning, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register.
• Apply color corrections and press adjustments to meet and maintain production quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of worn or broken parts.
• Perform manufacturer-recommended periodic maintenance.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of press techniques, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements for multi-color production.
• Ability to perform complex mechanical procedures, major adjustments, routine maintenance, and minor equipment repairs.
• Ability to read job specifications and assess press capabilities to select appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
• Skill using a micrometer to correctly mount and align printing plates.
• Applicable military experience includes Navy Lithographer, Marine Combat Lithographer, or Army Printing and Bindery Specialist roles.
