Multilingual (ELL/ESL) Teacher (ESL)

Location: Newark, NJ, USA; full-time, school-based position

Salary: $65,000–$103,000+ annually, with additional performance-based pay opportunities of up to $7,000 annually.

What you will do

• Prepare lesson plans aligned with students’ English proficiency levels.
• Teach small-group English language learner classes using pull-out and push-in models.
• Use student data to provide responsive instruction and support English-language mastery.
• Monitor student progress, update goal trackers, and adjust teaching strategies.
• Collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to support academic progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with official transcripts showing the degree conferred before employment starts.
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for degrees completed after 2016, or at least 2.75 for degrees conferred before 2016.
• Appropriate state teaching certification issued or in progress.
• Subject matter expertise and a record of success in the classroom.
• Interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

Nice to have

• Bilingual ability in another language.
• At least two years of teaching experience.
• Knowledge of WIDA requirements.
