Casualty Claim Specialist I (Insurance)

Location: Charleston, West Virginia, United States; primarily in the office

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve commercial general liability and auto liability claims.
• Manage medium- to moderately complex litigated and non-litigated losses.
• Provide customer service and bring assigned cases to timely, appropriate resolution.
• Prepare accurate documentation and resolution action plans based on applicable law, coverage, and supporting evidence.
• Travel as needed for internal and external meetings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective decision-making skills, including recognizing, analyzing, and improving claims performance against standards and goals.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
