Senior Packaging Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: North Haven, Connecticut, United States of America; 5 days a week onsite

Salary: $98,400–$147,600 annually, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Support packaging manufacturing, process development, equipment development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Lead equipment and packaging validation activities, including Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and Performance Qualification.
• Prepare, review, and approve manufacturing instructions, protocols, reports, and other controlled documentation.
• Coordinate engineers, technicians, and cross-functional partners across Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Engineering.
• Investigate process failures, non-conformances, and corrective and preventive actions while improving product quality and production efficiency.
• Develop project plans, roadmaps, timelines, and milestones, and communicate progress to senior management and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are accepted with 2+ or 0 years of experience respectively.
• Experience with packaging equipment, sealing technologies, and packaging process validation activities.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, non-conformance investigations, CAPA, and risk management.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is limited to Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Packaging operations experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or aerospace manufacturing.
• Strong project management experience with project planning and timeline management.
