Electrical Engineer II – Spacecraft Hardware (PCB Design/Spacecraft Systems): Developing and producing board-level hardware for spacecraft communication systems with an accent on robust PCB implementation, subsystem integration, and mission reliability. Focus on designing and troubleshooting electronics across the spacecraft lifecycle, conducting part-selection trade studies, and applying signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC analysis.

Location: On-site in Westminster, Colorado, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do

  • Translate spacecraft requirements into robust PCB-level hardware designs aligned with system performance, reliability, and mission objectives.
  • Own board-level development from design through production.
  • Contribute to spacecraft subsystem definition, integration, and troubleshooting across the full lifecycle.
  • Create and edit block diagrams representing system and board functionality.
  • Conduct trade studies for component selection and technical direction.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, FPGA, thermal, and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 2 years of experience in electronics hardware development.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium and experience with PCB layout.
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, communication skills, and persistence in solving difficult technical problems.
  • Eligibility to work on U.S. Government-regulated space technology is required.

Nice to have

  • Power integrity, signal integrity, or worst-case circuit analysis experience.
  • LTSpice experience for circuit or system-level simulations.
  • Advanced coursework in analog, digital, RF, or power electronics.
  • Experience with microcontroller- or FPGA-based systems and programming in C, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation and engineering competition teams.
