Electrical Engineer I/II (Avionics/Aerospace): Developing and testing avionics hardware and PCB assemblies for spacecraft programs with an accent on analog electronics, circuit analysis, and end-to-end hardware development. Focus on schematic capture, PCB layout, design verification testing, system integration, and production support for high-reliability space systems.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite role based out of the Long Beach office.

Base salary: $82,400–$126,000 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $89,350–$143,625 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Develop PCBA requirements in collaboration with engineers from other disciplines.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Perform power, tolerance, and reliability circuit analyses.
  • Execute PCBA design verification and system integration testing.
  • Support production manufacturing activities as needed.
  • Participate in electrical hardware development from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • Strong background in analog electronics design.
  • Proficiency with circuit analysis using SPICE and Excel.
  • For the Engineer II level: 2+ years of electrical hardware design experience, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • For the Engineer II level: experience with electronic laboratory equipment and design verification test planning and execution.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for the stated program requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
  • Experience designing for space environments, including radiation effects and mitigation.
  • Experience with high-reliability aerospace applications, rigid-flex PCBs, or electromechanical design.
  • Experience with FPGA design and embedded software development for ARM processors.
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
