TL;DR
Electrical Design Engineer II (Aerospace): Designing, fabricating, testing, and integrating analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit boards and electronic subsystems for space and defense applications with an accent on circuit analysis, PCB layout, risk analysis, and design documentation. Focus on defining requirements, developing detailed hardware designs, troubleshooting integration issues, and supporting products throughout their lifecycle.

Location: Simsbury, CT, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

  • Design, fabricate, assemble, test, and integrate circuit board assemblies and electronic subsystems.
  • Develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit board designs.
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, operating-stress analysis, and electrical worst-case analysis.
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts, routing, design documentation, and risk analyses.
  • Troubleshoot hardware performance issues during integration, testing, and verification.
  • Support all product lifecycle phases, from requirements definition and concept development through implementation, integration, and ongoing product support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal design.
  • Strong knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout; Altium version 20 or newer is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit simulation software such as LTspice.
  • Experience performing operating-stress and electrical worst-case analyses.
  • Ability to work onsite in Simsbury, Connecticut, United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DOD, SAE, IEEE, IPC, RCC-319, or IPC-222x standards.
  • Knowledge of FPGA/VHDL or embedded C development.
  • Experience with FMECA and fault-tree risk analyses.
  • Hands-on experience using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
