Base pay: $124,000–$212,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Own electrical hardware development for robotics and motor control applications from requirements and architecture through design, prototyping, testing, and production.
  • Make architecture decisions for control systems involving FPGAs and microcontrollers.
  • Develop PCBA requirements and perform design verification and system integration testing with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Capture schematics and create PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Lead environmental qualification activities, including EMI/EMC, TVAC, shock, and vibration testing.
  • Mentor support engineers, assist manufacturing, and lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations for hardware in test, integration, or on-orbit operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of electrical hardware design experience.
  • Experience developing blank-sheet design concepts, FPGA-based PCBA designs, motor control applications, and analog signal chains.
  • Proficiency with circuit analysis using SPICE, board bring-up, and hardware debugging.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Nice to have

  • FPGA firmware development with Verilog, including creating IP from scratch, and experience with Field-Oriented Control.
  • Experience with switch-mode power supplies, space electronics, radiation mitigation, rigid-flex PCBs, and electromechanical design.
  • Experience with PCBA verification and validation, EMI/EMC and environmental testing, FMEA, parametric or worst-case analysis, Librero, and Simulink.
