Power Grid Automation Engineer II

What you will do

• Prepare switchgear automation proposals with functional descriptions and pricing.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for sales, marketing, production engineering, and customers.
• Manage Distribution Automation projects from quoting through customer site acceptance.
• Design logic, program relays and controllers, and test systems.
• Develop flexible program templates and software solutions for customizable product packages.
• Train and assist customers with installation and commissioning, including occasional on-site activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of progressive engineering design or development experience.
• Strong industrial or utility programming skills, preferably including relay programming.
• Experience with relays, switchgear, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of three-phase power systems, protection functions, communications, and electrical test procedures.
• Experience or knowledge with SEL, Basler, and GE relay integration and logic programming.
• Ability to travel overnight 5–10% and collaborate across functional teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of symmetrical components and load flow.
• Experience with fiber optic, radio, and cellular communication systems and antenna selection.
• Knowledge of motors, transformers, and generators in power distribution systems.
