Electrical Field Engineer (AI Data Centers)

Location: On-site full-time at an active Giga data center construction site; the specific site depends on current project needs, with potential relocation or extended assignment to other active sites as the portfolio grows.

What you will do

• Identify, document, track, and resolve RFIs for electrical construction scope.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams to identify discrepancies, conflicts, and missing information.
• Identify field conditions that may require change orders and prepare scope, cost, schedule, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with project controls, project managers, design teams, engineers of record, and subcontractors to price, negotiate, and close change orders.
• Support field layout, installation checks, material takeoffs, and procurement follow-up.
• Coordinate with commissioning and controls teams to reflect approved resolutions in as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a field engineer, project engineer, or similar role on electrical construction projects.
• Working knowledge of MV/HV electrical systems, switchgear, and UPS.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and electrical specifications.
• Experience writing and managing RFIs and change orders on construction projects.
• Strong organization and written communication skills for tracking open items and documenting technical issues.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center or other mission-critical facility construction.
• Familiarity with commissioning processes and the effect of RFIs and change orders on FPTs and IST.
• Experience with Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar project management software.
• OSHA 30 certification.
