TL;DR
Electrical Engineer III/Senior (Power Systems/Automation): Leading the design and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks for pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities with an accent on automation, real-time monitoring, energy storage, and safety systems. Focus on integrating high-voltage equipment and renewable energy systems, managing projects from concept to completion, and solving complex reliability and compliance challenges.
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for approximately the first two years, followed by relocation to Tulsa, Oklahoma or Houston, Texas based on business needs. Relocation is required.

What you will do
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks for critical infrastructure.
- Integrate automation, real-time monitoring, energy storage, grid integration, and renewable energy technologies.
- Implement arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to improve personnel safety and infrastructure reliability.
- Provide technical expertise on power distribution, electrical schematics, high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear.
- Manage complex engineering projects from concept through completion, including timelines, budgets, procurement, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with electrical, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant ABET-accredited Engineering Technology program.
- For the Senior level: eight years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or a related industry. For level III: four years of experience.
- Professional Engineer license required for the applicable Engineering Technology degree path; a PE license and master’s degree are preferred.
- Experience with power system design, analysis, and simulation using ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, arc flash studies, and electrical design codes.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% and relocate within the United States as part of the role.
Nice to have
- Experience with PLC and HMI systems, instrumentation design, and project management.
- Experience with Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC projects for small- to medium-sized facilities.
- Experience overseeing factory acceptance testing, commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment.
