Senior Claims Examiner – Home Office Motor Carrier and Auto Liability

Location: Lansing, MI, United States; hybrid work may be available up to 3 days per week from home after initial in-person training.

What you will do

• Review and monitor open claims files, including coverage, liability, and damage determinations.
• Review closed files and provide feedback to claim handlers.
• Ensure open and closed files follow claim handling guidelines and state Fair Claims Practices.
• Identify claims with subrogation potential and manage the arbitration process for subrogation files.
• Develop and present educational materials to claim associates in classroom and remote settings.
• Collaborate effectively with associates and customers at all levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of claims handling experience.
• Prior auto bodily injury claims experience.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues, interpret data, and manage multiple assignments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
