PIP Claim Rep I Michigan

Location: Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with remote work from a home office and occasional travel for meetings or team activities

Salary: $24.93–$38.77 per hour, plus potential annual company bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Handle low-complexity PIP claims under close supervision throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Review assigned claims, contact insureds and other affected parties, set expectations, and document activity in claim systems.
• Analyze policy coverage, provisions, benefits, exclusions, applicable state law, damages, and recovery potential.
• Evaluate financial loss values and approve payments to appropriate parties.
• Create sub-claims, refer complex matters, and coordinate with underwriting, recovery, and claims investigation units.
• Complete claim coding, documentation, closure, and related activities.

Requirements

• Associate degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least six months of experience negotiating claim settlements, securing and evaluating evidence, preparing manual or electronic estimates, and handling subrogation claims.
• Effective verbal and written communication, customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization, and workload organization skills.
• Ability to process time-sensitive information from multiple sources and research, analyze, and interpret subrogation laws across states.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Eastern Time.
• Background and drug screening are required for employment.

• Completion of an Insurance Institute of America program, such as General Insurance, Associate in Claims, or Associate in Management.
• CPCU coursework or designation.
• I-CAR ProLevel, CCC, or Xactware training.
