Director, Supplier Quality (HVAC)

Location: Longview, Texas, United States; office and manufacturing environments with travel between company locations up to 60% of the time

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality performance across the assigned supply base, tracking incoming defects, corrective action cycle time, supplier responsiveness, and supplier-related cost of poor quality.
• Develop supplier quality strategies with Supply Chain and Category Management, including segmentation, risk assessment, and improvement plans for critical suppliers.
• Own supplier qualification and onboarding requirements, including assessments, audits, capability reviews, quality agreements, and approved supplier list controls.
• Lead containment, disposition support, SCAR/CAPA activities, root-cause analysis, and effectiveness verification for supplier nonconformances.
• Improve incoming inspection and supplier control plans, support APQP/PPAP or equivalent part qualification, and monitor supplier quality data and scorecards.
• Build supplier quality teams and strategic relationships with supplier quality executives while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supplier quality leadership.
• 5+ years leading supplier quality across multiple sites in a matrix organization.
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams, connect quality performance to operational and financial outcomes, and communicate from the shop floor to executive leadership.
• Ability to work in production-floor environments and travel between manufacturing sites as required, with travel expected up to 60% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, HVAC, or a similar manufacturing industry.
• Experience driving operational quality improvement, visual management, and shop-floor team development.
