Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (TAS-Cullen HQ). Full-time role with 25–50% desk-based work and the remaining time conducting off-site supplier audits and working in external environments. Extended travel may be required.

What you will do

• Conduct initial and periodic supplier quality audits and maintain supplier performance documentation.
• Communicate with suppliers and procurement teams to address concerns, track performance indicators, and drive continual improvement.
• Analyze quality and nonconformance data, create SCARs, and manage 8D corrective-action responses.
• Support warehouse and material receiving inspections, including packaging and receiving issue resolution.
• Develop Inspection Test Plans and data collection methods for quality activities.
• Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA discussions and support resolution of internal and external nonconformances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited four-year program.
• 10+ years of experience in supply-chain quality auditing, corrective-action investigations, supplier performance monitoring, and supplier development.
• 5+ years of experience in risk identification and mitigation, welding and fabrication, and mechanical and electrical installation practices.
• ASQ certifications in Quality Engineering, Root Cause Analysis, and Internal Auditing, or approved equivalents.
• Expertise in root-cause and corrective-action techniques, including 5 Why, Fishbone, and Change/Event analysis.
• Experience with industrial manufacturing processes, SPC, quality data analytics, engineering design principles, metrology, and metallurgical fundamentals.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in quality engineering.
• Certified ASQ Quality Auditor.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and related technologies.
