Quality Engineer (Foundry)

What you will do

• Maintain and improve quality system documents, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, work instructions, test methods, and standard operating procedures.
• Support Management of Change activities, including validation, qualification, and documentation.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and related methods.
• Design SPC strategies, control charts, sampling plans, and Measurement System Analysis activities, including Gage R&R.
• Lead or support PPAP activities, customer specification reviews, dimensional reports, capability studies, and validation documentation.
• Support supplier quality, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects involving scrap, rework, dimensional variation, customer returns, throughput, and cost reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; equivalent foundry or quality experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of APQP, SPC, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with statistical software is beneficial.
• Ability to interact daily with production areas including melting, molding, finishing, and machining.
• Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs and use calipers, micrometers, CMM interfaces, and other measurement instruments.

Nice to have

• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
• Experience with metals manufacturing, machining, or foundry processes.
• Knowledge of green sand casting, pattern design, metallurgy, CNC, and related processes.
