Packaging Technical Process Operator

Location: Amherst, VA, USA; onsite. Full-time role with rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional mandatory overtime.

Starting wage: $24.30/hour plus a $1.50 shift differential.

What you will do

• Operate, inspect, set up, and adjust multiple high-speed packaging machines.
• Perform product quality checks and process scrap materials according to established procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process failures, clear jams, and complete minor mechanical repairs.
• Remove, replace, modify, and install equipment parts using hand tools.
• Maintain equipment, production areas, supplies, performance metrics, reports, and required paperwork.
• Communicate safety, quality, production, and resource issues with peers and managers; coordinate team activities when required.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• At least one year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to understand procedures, solve problems, make quick decisions, and work independently under limited supervision.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and up to seven consecutive days.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per day, frequently climb stairs, and occasionally work at multiple-story elevations or in confined spaces.
• Ability to occasionally or frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and overhead work.
