TL;DR
After School Site Director (Youth Development/Education): Leading and improving a middle school after-school program that integrates academics, enrichment, leadership development, and social-emotional learning with an accent on student outcomes, staff development, and family partnership. Focus on building high-performing teams, using data to improve participation and program quality, managing site budgets, and ensuring compliance across an in-person New York City program.

Location: Full-time, in-person work five days per week at a hirify.global campus in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Manhattan; primary location determined by the leadership team. The role requires work within a commutable distance of New York City and travel to hirify.global schools.

Salary: $70,000–$76,000 per year

What you will do

  • Develop and lead a high-quality middle school after-school program covering academics, enrichment, youth development, leadership, and social-emotional learning.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using student outcomes, participation data, and stakeholder feedback, then implement improvements.
  • Recruit, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate after-school staff while ensuring completion of required training.
  • Partner with school leaders, families, community organizations, and regional stakeholders to align programming and deliver engagement events.
  • Lead student recruitment, retention, attendance monitoring, and participation interventions.
  • Manage site budgets, purchasing, expenditure tracking, reporting, compliance, records, and crisis-support planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, social work, youth development, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Three to four years of experience working with school-age children in education, youth development, recreation, childcare, or social services.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in an after-school, childcare, educational, or related setting.
  • Experience managing programs with measurable goals and outcomes, using data for improvement, and managing budgets and expenditures.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, judgment, relationship-building, and adult-coaching skills.
  • Visa sponsorship and work authorization are not provided. The position requires in-person work in New York City and continued residence within commuting distance.
