NPD Project Engineer III (Medium Voltage Power Systems)

What you will do

• Lead assigned portions of new product design and development projects, including schedules, budgets, and project meetings.
• Manage system-level design requirements for medium-voltage switchgear in line with specifications and standards.
• Create engineering test plans, construct and test prototypes, perform pre-test calculations, and review test data.
• Conduct engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for new and existing products.
• Coordinate component and assembly selection with purchasing and vendors while supporting Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, maintain CAD databases, and direct Associate Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• More than five years of progressive engineering design and/or development experience.
• Experience with 3D parametric modeling, medium/high-voltage electrical power systems, and new product development stage-gate processes.
• Technical knowledge of motor operators, current and voltage sensing, grounding, voltage surges, power systems, and analog and digital circuit board design.
• Experience with SPICE or equivalent software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, DFMEA, technical documentation, and interpretation of technical standards.
• Ability to use soldering equipment and small hand and power tools for electrical and mechanical work.

• Experience with ProE/Creo and finite element analysis.
