TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer - NPI (Fusion Energy): Transitioning prototype pulser-system components into production through manufacturing process ownership, documentation, tooling, and assembly scale-up with an accent on complex electromechanical hardware and new product introduction. Focus on resolving production non-conformances, driving design-for-manufacturing improvements, managing build schedules, and increasing production yield and repeatability.

Location: Onsite in Fremont, California, United States

Salary: $138,100–$207,100 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage clean-energy company developing pulser-driven inertial fusion systems and components for affordable fusion power.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end manufacturing processes for pulser module assembly, from work instructions through build completion and acceptance.
  • Transition new electrical components from design and prototyping into full-scale production and product integration.
  • Partner with design engineering on manufacturing feedback, design-for-manufacturing improvements, and first-article builds.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment requirements for safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly.
  • Identify production non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Track cycle time, yield, and first-pass rate while supporting production scale-up and build schedule management.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in a hands-on production environment.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technicians on a production floor.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with complex electromechanical assembly; high-voltage, pulsed-power, or precision-mechanical hardware is preferred.
  • Experience with quality management systems, non-conformance processes, and 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone root cause methods.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T; familiarity with machining processes and equipment is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, energy, or other high-complexity hardware industries.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience transitioning first-of-kind or prototype hardware into production.
  • Exposure to high-voltage or pulsed-power systems.
  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience; CREO experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Early-stage, fast-moving environment with processes still being defined.
  • Equity plan.
  • 6% employer 401(k) matching.
  • Paid sick leave, vacation, and family leave.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
