Senior Estimator

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States; full-time on-site role

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual salary

What you will do

• Plan and manage estimating activities for assigned construction projects.
• Review project plans, requirements, specifications, bid forms, and quote letters.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, conceptual estimates, materials pricing, and labor and equipment cost calculations.
• Coordinate subcontractor solicitations, job walks, bid lists, drawing distribution, and bid compilation.
• Compare trade bids, review preliminary quotes with the Project Manager, and maintain bidding and work schedules.
• Support jobsite staff after bid award, complete post-bid buyouts where applicable, and supervise or train estimating staff when needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of estimating experience.
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand construction specifications and drawings.
• Strong judgment, calculation, and construction cost analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of construction costs and principles, including quantity takeoffs and purchasing accounting.
• Drafting and computer skills; engineering design and project management experience are desirable.
