Senior Claims Examiner – Home Office Commercial Property Claims

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with initial in-person training and up to three work-from-home days per week afterward. Willingness to relocate after one or two years of Home Office training is required.

What you will do

• Review and monitor open claims files and assess adherence to claims-handling guidelines.
• Provide support with coverage, liability, and damage determinations.
• Review open and closed files for compliance with state Fair Claims Practices.
• Provide feedback, training, and educational materials to claims associates across operating states.
• Develop and present educational sessions in classroom and remote settings.
• Attend required meetings, seminars, training classes, and travel as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of multiline claims-handling experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Ability to resolve complex issues, organize and interpret data, and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, mathematical, and judgment skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Xactimate software.
• Management or supervisory experience.
