Vice President, Portfolio Valuations

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India; hybrid with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote or office work available on Fridays

What you will do

• Lead project teams delivering valuation and financial advisory services across multiple client engagements.
• Determine valuation methodologies and review financial models for illiquid debt and equity investments, business enterprise valuations, and private equity and hedge fund portfolios.
• Provide quality control oversight for engagement teams and valuation deliverables.
• Manage, train, and develop associates and analysts.
• Build relationships with potential clients and identify new engagements across alternative investment managers, financial institutions, and public and private companies.
• Prepare business proposals and engagement letters and serve as a primary client contact.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in business valuations, complex and illiquid securities valuations, and fairness or solvency opinions.
• Proficiency in financial modeling for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses.
• Experience developing valuation approaches for equity and debt securities, loans, derivatives, structured products, and intangible assets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements.
• Knowledge of credit and M&A markets, authoritative valuation guidance, ASC 820, IFRS 13, industry best practices, and emerging issues.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or an MBA; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Prior investment banking or transaction experience.
• Active CPA, ASA, or CFA qualification.
