Building Performance Analyst, Commissioning

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; a combination of onsite and office-based duties is required according to project needs.

Base compensation: CAD 80,000–95,000 annually.

What you will do

• Conduct site visits, inspect installed equipment, test and troubleshoot building systems, and assess alignment with design intent, codes, and performance standards.
• Develop testing procedures, perform testing onsite and remotely, and document detailed results.
• Review design drawings, specifications, shop drawings, testing reports, and operations and maintenance documentation.
• Process energy data, develop energy models and simulations, and assess energy conservation measures.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for energy audits, building commissioning, and optimization projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders, including chairing meetings and resolving project issues.

Requirements

• University degree or college/technology diploma in engineering or a related equivalent field.
• Experience in building design, commissioning, performance testing, balancing, and/or measurement and verification.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Technical understanding and experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical building systems.
• Understanding and experience with building controls systems and programming, plus applicable codes, standards, and sustainable building rating systems.
• Eligibility and intent to pursue a P.Eng designation; candidates must also be insurable, bondable, and able to qualify for security clearance.
