TL;DR
AV Field Engineer (AV systems/DSP): Commissioning and optimizing audiovisual systems at client sites in Toronto and Mississauga, with an accent on signal flow troubleshooting, network coordination, DSP configuration, and videoconferencing performance. Location: Toronto and Mississauga, Canada; primarily on client jobsites with some office work. Frequent travel is required.

What you will do
- Commission AV systems at client sites by optimizing equipment settings against project scope, drawings, and design intent.
- Troubleshoot signal flow and complex AV or network issues while coordinating resolution with project stakeholders.
- Configure AV networks and coordinate client network requirements.
- Create and modify DSP files, optimize AEC for videoconferencing, and coordinate control objects with programmers.
- Document system changes through redlines, quality checklists, and archived configuration and programming files.
- Share lessons learned with installation, design, and pre-sales engineering teams and communicate project status regularly.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant industry, field installation, or systems design experience.
- High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex AV and network systems, with strong familiarity with MTR and Zoom Rooms.
- DSP certification from Biamp, QSC, or BSS is preferred.
- Control certification from QSC, Extron, or Crestron is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong customer service skills, and ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience with broadcast or hybrid conference and live-event systems.
- Extron AVE Associate, Audinate Dante Level 3, Biamp Tesira Server, Q-SYS Level 2, Control 201, Extron Certified Control Professional, Shure Integrated Systems Level 1, or AVIXA CTS certifications.
- Ability to commission and troubleshoot systems through a virtual connection with onsite support.
