Control Room Operator

Location: Onsite at Royal Bank Plaza, downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role follows a 12-hour rotating continental shift: two weeks of day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by two weeks of night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Weekend, statutory holiday, overtime, and after-hours emergency coverage may be required.

Salary: CAD 67,629–80,000 per year.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain building equipment and systems to uphold quality, safety, and comfort standards.
• Act as a building systems expert for Royal Bank Plaza.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Troubleshoot issues and develop and implement action plans.
• Build positive working relationships with tenants and collaborate with the building operations team.
• Respond to time-sensitive tasks and building emergencies with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of related experience in building operations and facilities maintenance for commercial assets such as data centers or Class A+ office buildings.
• BES 1 and 2 or a 4th Class Power Engineer certificate.
• Proficiency with a Building Automation System.
• Strong communication, multitasking, responsiveness, and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts and respond to emergencies after hours.
• Downtown Toronto office experience and current authorization to work full time in Canada are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
