Warehouse Health & Safety Officer (Nights)

Location: Shirebrook Distribution Centre, Meadow Ln, Shirebrook, Mansfield, UK; onsite night shifts, 5 days over 7

What you will do

• Provide practical health, safety, and wellbeing advice to operational managers, supervisors, and colleagues.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, assurance activities, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and reviews of safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and high-potential events, identifying immediate, underlying, and root causes.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, awareness campaigns, behavioural safety coaching, and workforce engagement activities.
• Support warehouse automation, engineering, facilities, contractor management, permit-to-work compliance, and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain safety records and reports, monitor corrective actions, support ISO 45001 audits, and escalate significant risks.

Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate and Fire Certificate.
• Associate IOSH Membership (AIOSH) or progress towards TechIOSH.
• At least 2 years of health and safety experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, DSEAR, and working-at-height requirements.
• Experience with inspections, audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.

Nice to have

• Experience with ISO 45001 and automated warehouse operations.
• Contractor management experience.
• First Aid at Work, Fire Warden, or Fire Risk Assessment qualifications.
• Experience with Power BI, reporting systems, or project management.
