Regional Head of Health, Safety & Environmental

Location: Hybrid role based within a commutable distance of Bath, Leeds, or Manchester, United Kingdom; travel up to 30% across the EMEA region.

What you will do

• Lead implementation of the global HSE strategy across the EMEA region and partner with regional business leaders.
• Provide governance, assurance, technical advice, and expert support across occupational safety, process safety, environmental protection, and critical risk management.
• Oversee critical risks and controls, ensuring effective implementation, assurance, and risk-based decision-making.
• Conduct regional audits, inspections, performance monitoring, and trend analysis to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
• Lead or guide significant incident investigations, support regulatory communication, and apply root cause analysis.
• Develop systems, tools, training, coaching, and best-practice sharing to improve HSE performance and organisational resilience.

Requirements

• Must reside within commuting distance of Bath, Leeds, or Manchester.
• Experience leading operational or field-service operations in engineering, manufacturing, energy, oil and gas, power generation, chemicals, construction, or another high-hazard industry.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety, process safety, critical risk management, and critical control implementation and assurance.
• Relevant HSE or engineering degree, course, or diploma, plus a recognised health and safety qualification such as a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience developing and improving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, supported by audit and assurance experience.
• Experience partnering with business leaders, leading incident investigations, using root cause analysis, and applying HSE reporting systems and digital tools.
