TL;DR
Transportation Excellence Lead (Global Supply Chain Transportation): Leading global transportation strategy, carrier sourcing, network optimization, and scalable operating processes with an accent on multimodal freight, transportation technology, and data-driven cost and service management. Focus on designing operating models, negotiating air and ocean freight agreements, building business cases, improving transportation systems, and balancing cost, capacity, service, risk, and sustainability.

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; four days per week in the Seattle offices

Salary: $104,217–$156,325 per year

What you will do

  • Lead initiatives within the global end-to-end transportation roadmap in partnership with Supply Chain leadership.
  • Model transportation network scenarios, optimize carrier sourcing, and recommend improvements to cost, capacity, service, and risk.
  • Lead carrier sourcing, including RFP design, rate negotiations, supplier evaluation, and selection across air, ocean, intermodal, and trucking.
  • Design scalable transportation processes, SOPs, governance frameworks, and operating standards while driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead transportation technology initiatives covering requirements, solution design, testing, implementation, and change management.
  • Develop financial models and ROI business cases, manage freight invoice auditing, support sustainability reporting, and present recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in transportation, supply chain, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact and influencing senior stakeholders in complex global environments.
  • Expertise in carrier strategy, sourcing, and performance management across multiple transportation modes.
  • Advanced proficiency in transportation management systems and analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience mentoring team members, designing scalable operating models, and working independently in ambiguous environments; travel up to 10% is required.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement experience.
  • Project management experience.
