Intermediate Electrical Designer (Revit/AutoCAD)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada — 380 Wellington Street West; onsite, full time

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually

What you will do

• Perform electrical design operations using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Support the design of power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, photovoltaic, lighting, and lighting-control systems.
• Provide technical assistance to senior designers, project managers, and team leaders.
• Coordinate electrical and mechanical requirements with architects, structural consultants, code consultants, geotechnical consultants, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate service requirements and connections with utility and municipal agencies.
• Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and RFIs and issuing site instructions and change notices with senior-staff support.

Requirements

• At least two years of design experience in power distribution, fire alarm, lighting, and lighting-control systems using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Proficient operating knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Ability to apply prescriptive requirements from electrical building-services engineering codes with minimal supervision.
• University degree or college diploma specializing in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong communication skills, initiative, willingness to learn, and flexibility when priorities change.
