Plant Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: US manufacturing plant/entity

Salary: $98,000–$128,000 annually, plus eligibility for the Quarterly Incentive Pay Program.

G&W Electric develops engineered electrical power grid solutions and manufactures products for the power industry.

What you will do

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and local financial statements.
• Lead accounting activities and maintain appropriate internal controls for the US entity.
• Analyze actual performance against plans and forecasts, providing P&L, expense, and profitability insights.
• Oversee inventory, cost, manufacturing, fixed asset, and capital expenditure accounting, including cost changes and inventory valuation.
• Coordinate audits, annual operating plans, departmental budgets, physical inventory counts, and obsolete inventory reviews.
• Lead the Finance team and partner with Operations on cost control, waste elimination, lean manufacturing, and ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an international manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Intermediate to expert Excel skills, including working with and organizing large data sets.
• Experience with ERP or MRP business systems and consolidation software or tools.
• Ability to lead Finance staff, communicate across the organization, protect confidential information, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice to have

• JD Edwards and Adaptive Insights experience.
• CPA certification or equivalent experience and skills.
• International reporting experience, US GAAP knowledge, and currency adjustment experience.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
