Financial Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Rochester, NY, USA; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: USD 115,000–130,000 yearly

What you will do

• Manage financial accounting activities, transaction recording, reconciliations, general ledger accounts, intercompany transactions, and subsidiary records.
• Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements and comprehensive reports for plant leadership, executives, and external stakeholders.
• Develop and analyze budgets and forecasts, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable financial insights.
• Oversee cash flow management, payment processing, internal controls, compliance, and financial integrity.
• Lead annual internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
• Partner with department heads and operational teams while implementing process improvements and efficient accounting solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including international or multi-entity financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, financial planning, variance analysis, internal controls, compliance, audits, and accounting operations management.
• Fluent English proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Previous management experience and experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, forecasting, FP&A methodologies, accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• MBA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with mTMS, OneStream, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience with system implementation, process automation, or US tax reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
