KIPP Pride Campus School Nurse (grade K - 8)

Location: Gaston, North Carolina, USA; on-site full-time

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually as a 10-month employee

What you will do

• Provide student healthcare, first aid, immunizations, medication administration, and daily individual care.
• Perform health screenings, make referrals, and follow up on student health needs.
• Develop emergency preparedness plans and train school staff for health emergencies.
• Communicate with families about student wellness and health concerns.
• Maintain health records, incident forms, documentation, and confidential student files.
• Collaborate with staff to support wellness programming and a safe, healthy school environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
• Willingness to obtain North Carolina School Nurse certification within three years of hire.
• CPR certification, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and remain on your feet for more than eight hours per day.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in nursing or a school nurse practitioner certificate.
• Previous school nursing experience.
• National School Nurse Certification.
• Experience in a charter or independent school environment.
• Fluency in Spanish.
