Vocational Nursing Instructor

Location: Campus-based in Concord, California, USA. Clinical rotations take place off site at hospitals and other facilities.

Salary: USD 90,000–110,000 per year, plus a 10% differential for evening and weekend clinical shifts.

What you will do

• Teach vocational nursing lecture content, laboratory sessions, and clinical rotations during day, evening, and weekend schedules.
• Mentor and support students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Improve instructional quality through innovative teaching methodologies and online learning activities.
• Review and revise course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, grades, skills check-off forms, clinical requirement records, and student files.
• Submit program reports, participate in assigned committees, and complete professional development activities.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse license in the state where teaching is performed.
• Three years of bedside experience with a bachelor’s degree, or six years of experience with an associate degree.
• Ability to meet faculty requirements established by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Current nursing practice knowledge and clinical experience, with the ability to mentor students and work independently.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and broad knowledge of nursing sciences.
