LPN - Medication Nurse

Location: Lawrence, Kansas, USA; onsite at the treatment center.

Salary: $27.00–$30.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Administer methadone as prescribed and observe patients for treatment response.
• Screen and assess new and existing patients, collect urine specimens, and monitor laboratory work and physicals.
• Maintain medication inventories, prepare courtesy and vacation dose packages, and follow DEA handling requirements.
• Keep dosing records and clinical documentation complete and current.
• Support regulatory, licensing, and accreditation compliance in the treatment center.
• Collaborate with counselors and nursing staff, mentor new team members, and continue developing clinical skills.

Requirements

• Current LPN license.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to work onsite in Lawrence, Kansas, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment involving substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and potential bloodborne pathogen exposure.

Nice to have

• Experience in chemical addiction treatment.
• Knowledge of medication dispensing equipment, centrifuges, physical assessment tools, breathalyzers, and other clinical devices.
• Strong data entry, computer, prioritization, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records and standard office equipment.
• Willingness to obtain phlebotomy certification when required.
