IT Portfolio Manager (Financial Services)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; full-time onsite role. Occasional travel is required.

Salary: $114,910.00–$141,946.66 per year for new hires in Irvine, with potential annual bonus/incentives and restricted stock.

What you will do

• Support demand intake, quarterly planning, roadmap discussions, and initiative prioritization across assigned IT portfolios.
• Maintain resource plans, team rosters, capacity information, project data, and delivery commitments.
• Perform demand-versus-capacity analysis and identify resource constraints, dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Support annual planning, forecasting, variance analysis, budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare portfolio dashboards, metrics, status reports, governance materials, and leadership presentations.
• Serve as a power user of the enterprise PPM platform, supporting enhancements, testing, training, adoption, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in an IT function such as project management, planning, operations, IT analysis, communications, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Agile, hybrid Agile, and traditional software delivery environments.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, priority management, project tracking, and reporting.
• Experience or exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial management, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Planview, Azure DevOps, Clarity, ServiceNow PPM, or similar project and portfolio management tools.
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
