Assistant General Counsel, Reinsurance Legal

Location: New York, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $175,000–$218,000 annually, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Advise on reinsurance aspects of strategic transactions, including M&A, capital markets, and insurance-linked securities matters.
• Support business units on ceded and assumed facultative reinsurance transactions.
• Analyze contractual aspects of internal reinsurance arrangements.
• Structure and implement reinsurance components of complex multinational programs.
• Draft and negotiate reinsurance and collateral documentation for global captive reinsurance programs.
• Address reinsurance-related legal, regulatory, compliance, collection, and claims inquiry matters with attorneys and teams worldwide.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Admission to a U.S. state bar is required.
• At least 4 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house counsel role.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and internal clients across a global organization while working independently.
