Fleet Maintenance Manager (Automotive)

What you will do

• Manage fleet equipment and lead technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on up to 60 diesel and alternative-fuel vehicles.
• Direct technicians, lead technicians, and maintenance supervisors while overseeing shop huddles, fleet walks, training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.
• Plan and schedule repairs, manage overtime, monitor shop efficiency, and implement process improvements.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs, identify breakdown and road-call trends, and control personnel, purchasing, inventory, outsourcing, and facility maintenance costs.
• Oversee external repair facilities and conduct quality-control inspections to ensure compliance with company safety standards and federal and state regulations.
• Manage payroll, employee records, maintenance documentation, Dossier Maintenance Software records, budgets, and departmental goals; local travel may be required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in the transportation industry.
• Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, including OSHA HazCom, OSHA Lockout/Tagout, OSHA Fire Safety, and other federal and state regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of engine, emissions, transmission, brake, hydraulic, electrical, heating, air-conditioning, and vehicle body-control systems.
• Automotive Service Excellence certifications: T2 Diesel Engine, T Master, T3 Drive, T4 Brake, and T5 Suspension and Steering.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office knowledge, analytical and organizational skills, professional communication, customer service, financial planning, and employee collaboration abilities.
