Irrigation Maintenance I

Location: Shafter, California, USA; full-time onsite field and shop work

Salary: $20–$21 per hour, with final compensation based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Assemble, inspect, clean, replace, and troubleshoot irrigation pumps, motors, valves, fittings, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oiling motors and greasing pumps.
• Support new water well development through excavation and PVC installation.
• Operate basic heavy equipment, including forklifts, service trucks, and truck-and-trailer combinations.
• Perform general farm and shop maintenance, including cleaning, painting, minor irrigation repairs, installations, repairs, and electrical work.
• Maintain equipment stock, shop organization, safety protocols, and appropriate PPE use.

Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical, construction, or commercial environments.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of pumps, motors, filter stations, sulfur burners, gypsum machines, fertilizer pumps, and acid pumps.
• Ability to read and apply operating manuals, plans, specifications, and two-dimensional drawings.
• Ability to take and interpret measurements such as land depth, length, and voltage.
• Ability to drive a truck and trailer and properly secure loads; a valid state driver’s license is required.
• Ability to follow farm, electrical, and trench safety procedures and use required PPE.

Nice to have

• One to two years of experience with agricultural farm equipment or one year with the company’s farming operations.
• Class A license.
• GPS experience.
• Welding experience; training is available on the job.
