HVAC Technician

What you will do

• Perform safe maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose breakdowns, test components with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and complete necessary repairs.
• Service split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic and electrical control systems, air handlers, chilled-water, boiler, and other mechanical systems.
• Maintain medium- to large-scale heating and cooling systems ranging from 3 to 1280 tons.
• Complete daily electronic documentation on a handheld device and operate a company vehicle for service calls within an assigned territory.
• Work independently and with a team to complete service tasks and assigned projects within allotted time frames.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
• Proficiency with electrical and mechanical diagnostics and familiarity with blueprints, schematics, drawings, and equipment layouts.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, provide customer service, and solve problems analytically.
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., and travel for projects as needed.
• Ability to pass background, drug, motor vehicle record, and physical ability screenings.

Nice to have

• EPA Universal certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience with RTUs, air handlers, split systems, chilled-water systems, or boilers.
