Civil/Geotechnical Staff Engineer

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States; full-time role with field-related services required at least 50% of the time during the rotation and travel of up to 25%.

What you will do

• Participate in a rotation across geotechnical engineering, construction inspections, slope stability, deep foundations, instrumentation, pavement engineering, and materials engineering.
• Perform field and laboratory tests and observe construction activities under the supervision of licensed engineers.
• Complete assignments independently and contribute to larger projects as a team member.
• Prepare proposals, engineering reports, recommendations, and solutions for geotechnical and materials testing projects.
• Manage basic geotechnical and materials testing projects and maintain client communications.
• Build experience toward obtaining a Professional Engineer license.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical or materials emphasis, or a related degree.
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform field-related services for at least 50% of the field rotation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
