Software Engineer, Industrial Controls & Defense (LabVIEW)

Location: Dynapower, South Burlington, Vermont, United States; onsite full-time

Base salary: $115,620–$173,440 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop real-time control and monitoring software on NI Linux RT platforms using LabVIEW.
• Design and implement software architectures on NI real-time hardware, including cRIO, sbRIO, and I/O modules.
• Integrate software with external hardware and perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and automated system verification.
• Create and maintain software requirements, design artifacts, interface control documents, test procedures, verification reports, and configuration records.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, testing, sustainment, configuration management, build processes, and debugging.
• Participate in peer code reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews with the Navy and shipbuilders.

Requirements

• University degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience developing real-time applications on NI Linux RT platforms and proficiency with LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA modules.
• Strong understanding of deterministic software design, embedded systems, and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with C/C++ and object-oriented languages such as C#, Python, or Java; familiarity with Ethernet, CAN Bus, RS-485, and RS-232.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for embedded and real-time Linux systems, military software standards, documentation, testing, and environmental qualification.
• Must be eligible to obtain authorization under ITAR and/or EAR; non-US persons may not be eligible.

Nice to have

• Previous experience developing software for US military applications, including MIL-E-917E.
• Experience supporting PDR and CDR milestones.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
